EXPOSIÇÃO TRILHAS

Trilhas e outros caminhos – Natal Shopping Center – Natal - 2007

Rio Grande do Norte — Trails and Other Paths is a photographic project that proposes a visual journey through the territory of Rio Grande do Norte, revealing landscapes, people, and memories that shape the state’s identity.

From coastline to hinterland, the work follows roads, trails, and symbolic pathways, documenting dunes and cliffs, rock formations, archaeological sites, and small rural communities. The human presence — children, cowboys, local residents — appears integrated into the landscape, not as an isolated subject but as an intrinsic part of the territory.

Rather than a geographic inventory, the project constructs a sensitive narrative about belonging, movement, and permanence. The images intertwine nature, culture, and history, highlighting the contrasts between aridity and abundance, silence and celebration, vastness and intimacy.

Conceived as an invitation to travel, the exhibition encourages viewers to traverse Rio Grande do Norte through photography, recognizing its multiple trails — both physical and symbolic — and its many possible paths.
